Your voyage, your choices.

Effective date: 26 October 2026

Shipmate: Pixel Seas is a game for iPhone and iPad. Paid version 1.2 does not show ads or offer in-app purchases. Version 2.0 adds optional rewarded ads and purchases. This policy explains both versions and this website.

Your game data

You do not need a Shipmate account. Voyages and settings are saved on your device. Your harbour and purchase credits are also kept in the iOS keychain, which may sync to your other devices if you use iCloud Keychain. Shipmate has no game server and no player accounts. From version 2.3, optional Meta app measurement works as described below. From version 2.4, the game can send anonymous first-journey counts, also described below.

Optional rewarded ads

In version 2.0, the only ad is a rewarded video you can choose for a revive. From version 2.4, you can also choose the same kind of ad once a day to halve a chest's timer in the harbour; the game asks you to tap twice before it plays. No ad is loaded before your first tap on Watch ad, and an ad is never shown without that choice. After you have answered the privacy questions, the game may load a later ad in advance.

Google Mobile Ads and Google's User Messaging Platform provide the ad and, where required, the consent form. When these services are used, Google and its ad partners may process your IP address, approximate location inferred from it, device identifiers, ad views and interactions, and diagnostic or performance data. The details depend on your choices, device settings, and the ad served. Read how Google uses information from partner apps and Google's privacy policy.

On first launch, iOS asks whether you allow Shipmate to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites for advertising and measurement. Shipmate waits for that answer before using Google's ad or consent services. If you decline, the optional ad remains available with non-personalized treatment and without your advertising identifier. You can change the tracking choice later in iOS Settings.

In regions where Google requires consent, its form appears after you first choose Watch ad. You can revisit that choice through Settings > Ad privacy. Google's publisher first-party identifier is disabled.

Optional app measurement from version 2.3

Shipmate includes Meta's app SDK to measure installs and app opens from advertising. It starts only if you allow tracking in Apple's permission prompt and Google's region check says additional consent is not required. If tracking is denied or restricted, or the region check requires consent or is unknown, Shipmate does not start Meta measurement.

When enabled, Meta may receive install and app-open events, session timing, device and app information, network information such as your IP address, and your advertising identifier. Meta uses this information for advertising measurement and attribution. Shipmate does not send gameplay scores, purchases, your account details, email addresses or precise location as custom Meta events. Read Meta's privacy policy.

You can withdraw tracking permission in iOS Settings. Shipmate stops reporting new app activations when tracking permission is withdrawn. Your choice does not restrict sailing, purchases or optional rewarded revives.

Anonymous first-journey counts from version 2.4

To learn where new players stop during their first days, the game counts a few steps once each: first launch, finishing the guide, first voyage, first sinking, the revive offer and how it was answered, choosing a goal, a safe return, a second voyage, and coming back one day and seven days after the first launch. Each count sends only the step's name, how many days after the first launch it happened (up to 30), and the app version, to this website.

A count carries no device identifier, advertising identifier, account, name, score or purchase, and two counts cannot be joined to the same person. The website adds each one to a daily total and does not store your IP address or any other part of the request. You can turn counts off at any time in Settings > Help > Share play counts.

Purchases

Apple processes optional in-app purchases and payment information. Shipmate does not receive your payment card details. The game reads Apple's purchase records to credit, restore, and, where applicable, reverse purchased items.

Purchase reporting in the next app update

The next update will use RevenueCat to validate and report in-app purchases. Apple still processes payments. RevenueCat receives purchase records, product and transaction identifiers, an anonymous app user identifier, and app, device and network information needed to operate the service. This helps us understand purchase revenue and manage purchase records. We do not send names, email addresses, advertising identifiers, gameplay events or ad-revenue events to RevenueCat. Read RevenueCat's privacy policy.
